The relationship between a city, its nature and its inhabitants can sometimes be a very peculiar one. Nature tries to adapt to an evolving city and its inhabitants try to adapt to the evolving city and its nature. Over time a city becomes a garden and its nature and its inhabitants become a strange fruit…
This exhibition will explore the relationship between nature, the female body and its environment in a playfully, unexpected and visually eye-catching way.
Through photography, collage art and installation art, six female artists will show their strange fruits in Art Room MINA.
Come and take a walk with us through the garden of strange fruits.
Opening: March 1st from 8 PM – 10 PM Weteringschans 69 1017 RX, Amsterdam

A growing entity is taking over the space, it is slowly growing, feeding of blue dye. By spreading its roots, it merges with the environment and modifies it. Inspired by science fiction and biology, Ersatz Jungle is a poetic visualisation of a soft post apocalyptic scenario that remind us that textile industry is one of the most pollutants releasing industries of the world and a big part of water pollution is made by textile dyeing.
A collection of small objects created to enhance insects’ abilities. How could prosthesis look like if they were made to help insects with their future handicaps? In between jewellery and future scenario props, the prosthesis are a subtle call for help.
